CLASS SUMMARY
Heads-Up, Pro-tree (.400) Q16 class for FWD only import brand/sport compact door cars ONLY. Wheelie bars, one piece front ends, and straight axles prohibited for FI cars, OK for NA. Two qualifying passes permitted.
BODY
Import or domestic compact car bodies allowed. One piece front ends prohibited for forced induction applications, but allowed for naturally aspirated. Tail lights and head lights required (one may be removed for induction purposes) for forced induction applications. Lexan glass allowed. *Updated 12/18/22
INTERIOR
Doors must open and close from inside and outside the vehicle. No center drive configurations. Dash must remain for forced induction applications.
CHASSIS AND SUSPENSION
Full tube chassis prohibited. Back-half chassis and tubes are not allowed. No center-drive systems. Wheelie bars and straight axles prohibited for forced induction applications, but allowed for naturally aspirated.
ENGINE
4 or 6 cylinder motor entries allowed. No air-cooled or rotary engines allowed. Motor swaps allowed as long as they stay within the same manufacturer. *updated 1/18/22.
POWER ADDERS
Turbochargers (limit 73.9 mm), Superchargers, and Nitrous Oxide Systems permitted in any combination. Turbo measured at inducer. *updated 12/16/22
DRIVETRAIN AND TRANSMISSION
FWD only.
EXHAUST
Any type of exhaust system permitted.
TIRES
Any DOT approved tires allowed. Slicks limited to 25.0 for forced induction applications and 26.0 for any naturally aspirated applications, automatic transmission applications, or CM8 chassis. *updated 1/19/18
*OIL CONTAINMENT RULING STARTING IN 2017
Highly modified, non-factory setup vehicles (determined at IFO staff's discretion) 11.49 and faster required to have oil containment device (pan or diaper). Racers lacking oil containment device when required may still race at IFO staff's discretion with $100 track clean up deposit. Deposit returned to racer at end of event pending no oil down. Catch pan should cover entire area below engine/transmission with 2 inch high lips on all sides. Lips should to be covered or curved inward. If a competitor spills excessive oil onto the track, he or she may be disqualified from racing at the discretion of IFO/track staff.
***If someone in your class is not within the rules, immediately ask for IFO staff to protest. Once your vehicle is staged, you accept all conditions of the race.
***Contestants may be disqualified from an event or banned from the series at the discretion of IFO staff for any one of the following reasons including, but not limited to 1) breaking rules 2) excessive oil downs 3) playing excessively loud music with explicit lyrics 4) bad sportsmanship 5) illegitimate protests against opponents who are not breaking rules 6) verbal abuse of event staff 7) disrespect/personal attacks towards the IFO series, track host, and/or fellow contestants.
